Dam liners offer the longest life spans

A dam liners can me made out of several different materials, with polypropylene and polyethylene being the most common. Giving both value for money and long life spans.

EPDM rubber dam liners offer the longest life spans, but at the greatest cost. With 30 plus years of service are not uncommon.

The biggest threat to a dam liner will be from either tree roots or animals.

Dams that leak water through seepage may require one of several different solutions to overcome the problem.  Water leakages can occur for a variety of different reasons, including;
·         Ground movement
·         Erosion
·         Incursion by tree roots
·         Damage from livestock
·         Soil conditions

Dam liners can be buried to increase the lifespan of the liner and help protect them. This is often how pond liners are installed.
